Food technology is the application of food science to the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution, and use of safe food. Related fields include analytical chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, nutrition, quality control, and food safety management.

Nursing Assistant - Introduction
Wherever there is a need for personal care, nursing assistants (NA), or nurses’ aides, are there. Nursing assistants work in nursing homes, home care, assisted living, Hospice, hospitals, community based long-term care, correctional institutions, and other long-term care settings.
Nursing assistants help patients of all ages perform the most basic daily tasks. They work under a licensed nurse’s supervision, and since they have extensive daily contact with each patient, they play a key role in the lives of their patients and in keeping the nurse up to date on vital information about the patients’ conditions.
Nursing assistants provide assistance with such tasks as:
- Dressing
- Bathing and skin care
- Feeding
- Mouth and hair care
- Making beds
- Toileting assistance and catheter care
- Bowel and bladder care
- Taking vital signs (temp, pulse, blood pressures etc)
- Helping patients walk with gait belts, walker, cane and other devices

Nursing Assistant - Scope

Operation Theater - Introduction
Operation Theater Technicians are responsible for various pre-, intra- and post-surgery duties within a hospital. They transport patients, preparing operating room for surgery, set up, check, connect and adjust surgical equipment, technical assistance to surgeons.

A Career in Operation Theater Technician is meeting the demand of the growing needs of experts in the fields of operation theatre management, medical ethics, anaesthesia technology and post-operation care. Operation Theatre Technician scope lies primarily in hospitals who recruit surgical or operation theatre technologists. Here is a list of professions that one can pursue after studying B.Sc. in OT technology.
OT Technician handles all the lab equipment and likewise the maintenance procedures done at operation theatres. These professionals work in the operating theatres,
ICUs and emergency departments of the hospitals and nursing homes.
Teacher- Like all the fields, OT technology also requires teachers who can train future professionals. Their role is to teach candidates and deliver lectures on OT management and technology subjects in a deeper manner to the students.
A wider scope of Operation Theatre Technology is quite prominent in transplant teams, orthopaedic clinics, gynaecology sections, cancer units, surgery, special care baby units. They are also hired for research, education and training. Some of the professionals are privately hired by doctors, surgeons, physicians or dentists who perform surgery of the patients.

Scope of Laboratory Technician
A Laboratory Technician can opt for various jobs as Laboratory Technician, Medical Technician, and Respiratory Therapist.
The job, post, and salary vary according to the skills, and working experience.
An approximate starting salary of a Laboratory Technician is Rs. 20,000/- minimum.

Medical Imaging Technician - Introduction
Medical imaging technicians operate X-ray and other imaging equipment, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound, to produce radiographic images that are used in the diagnosis and subsequent management of disease or injury.
Medical imaging technology is an eval Technology which encompasses a variety of advanced imaging modalities that are used in medical diagnosis and interventional procedures.
It shifted from conventional x-ray to new modalities such as Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI).

Medical Imaging Technicians are required in Government, Private Hospitals and Diagnostic Centers.
There is Government job of BPS-11 in the hospitals.

Medical imaging also establishes a database of normal anatomy and physiology to make it possible to identify abnormalities.
